这是系列首次以露伴的责任编辑、同时也是其得力搭档——泉京香为主人公展开的故事。这一次，京香因露伴的一句话，被卷入一场难以想象的怪异事件。本作在原作者荒木飞吕彦的协助下完成剧本创作，并由在国际上也备受关注的导演组合“5月”的关友太郎与平濑谦太朗共同执笔，推出全新原创故事。
